Kirkland People Directory Choices

Kirkland people directories are not one master list. Public staff rosters identify a person's work role. School and college directories connect a name to an academic department. Property and recorded-document systems reveal owners or parties to land filings. Business and license tools list people in defined public roles. For a past resident, the strongest directories are the Kirkland Heritage Society's dated city lists and phone books.

Choose by role and date. A current city employee belongs in the municipal directory, but a person tied to a 1930 address belongs in the dated Kirkland list. An address-based ownership question begins with the assessor, not a staff roster. No official current residential white-pages directory was found, so old phone books are historical evidence rather than a substitute for a present household listing.

Kirkland City Staff Directory

The Kirkland staff directory accepts a name or position title and can narrow results by department. Its department menu spans the City Attorney, City Manager, Finance and Administration, Fire, Human Resources, IT, Municipal Court, Parks, Planning and Building, Police, and Public Works. The linked roster can show the functional unit, employee name, title, work phone, and an email or Ask a Question route. Direct email may be limited to reduce phishing.

The image confirms name or title search and department filtering. When a person does not appear, call the department's main contact or use the City Clerk's records channels for a specific public record rather than assuming the employee or record does not exist.

Wider Kirkland Government Directories

Kirkland questions often cross city boundaries. The King County employee search requires at least part of a first or last name and supports partial matches. Results can show the employee, county group, title, phone, and mail stop. A detail record may add email, fax, supervisor, address, and a work link. The county suggests trying the first three letters or name variants when an exact spelling fails.

Washington's state employee directory offers optional last name, first name, and agency fields without a login. It is useful when the role belongs to a state office rather than Kirkland or King County. The live source appears before the screenshot below.

The captured page shows the three search boxes and confirms that an agency can narrow a common name. If a name may have changed form, test initials, compound or reordered surnames, transliteration variants, and diacritics. Record the office and update context with any match because these are work directories, not proof of a home address.

Kirkland Education Directory Routes

Northwest University's directory browses by department rather than through an inspected name box. Kirkland campus units include academic schools and centers as well as Admissions, Athletics, Campus Ministries, Facilities, IT, Library, Registrar, Security, and other offices. An entry may show campus, name, roles, department, email, phone, room, photograph, and links. One person can have more than one appointment, so read the whole card.

The screenshot demonstrates the department selector and employee-card layout. Lake Washington School District follows a different model. Its Resource Center and individual school pages publish static rosters with staff name, unit or title, email, and phone where shown. Lake Washington High School groups staff by subjects and services. Research did not locate one districtwide keyword search, so browse the relevant school or department and use its main office when a roster is incomplete.

Kirkland Property Owner Directories

King County's eReal Property and Parcel Viewer act as reverse directories. Start with a Kirkland street address or ten-digit parcel number, select the parcel, and open the property report. It can show the taxpayer or current owner, situs address, mailing address where public, jurisdiction, legal description, values, sale dates, and recorded-document links. The public entry points emphasize address or parcel input, not a countywide owner-name browse.

An owner line does not prove occupancy. The situs address locates the land, while a mailing address is where the tax bill goes. The legal description identifies the estate itself. Property reports should be checked against a deed and its date when identity matters. A postal address that says Kirkland may also fall outside city limits, so Parcel Viewer's jurisdiction report helps identify the right keeper.

Kirkland Names in Landmark

The Landmark Official Records Search works like a party directory for deeds, liens, releases, easements, marriage records, plats, powers of attorney, and many other recorded instruments. Its name index begins in 1976. Search names as last name, first name, then test variants and both grantor and grantee roles. A grantor gives or transfers an interest; a grantee receives one. Results may show the instrument number, recording date, document type, parties, parcel identifier, legal description, and image status.

Images are generally available from August 1, 1991 onward. Earlier indexed entries may lack a web image. King County Archives holds the 1853-1975 grantor and grantee microfilm and pre-August 1991 recording images. Historical requests work best with a party name, document type, and approximate year or five-year range. The 1969 county home-rule charter shifted recording from the elected Auditor to the Recorder, but the older series remained part of the record trail.

Kirkland Professional Directory Checks

Washington maintains several role-specific directories. The Department of Licensing lookup searches by name, license number, type, and location and can return issue, active, and expiration facts. The Department of Health credential search accepts a credential number, individual name, or business and reports credential and enforcement information. The state bar offers name, license type, license number, contact, and status routes.

For organizations, the Corporations and Charities Filing System searches a business name or UBI number. Its results can include entity type, principal office, registered agent, and status. The Kirkland Chamber member directory is a separate current business list. A registered agent, credential holder, applicant, or corporate governor is a defined public role, not automatic proof that the person owns a business, works at an address now, or lives there.

Note: Save the role, license or entity number, status, and date viewed so a later directory change can be checked against the same record.

Historical Kirkland People Directories

The Kirkland Heritage Society Resource Center is the strongest hyper-local directory hub. Its free scans include the 1888 Polk Directory of King County, the 1910-1911 Kirkland city directory, and a 1930 Kirkland address list. Its early phone books cover 1914; 1928 through 1939, including two 1930 books; 1944-1945; and 1947-1950. These dated sources can place a resident or business between census years.

The April 1930 East Side Journal list is unusual. It came from a house-numbering project, warned readers about possible spelling errors, and invited corrections. The list is alphabetic rather than a modern reverse directory, but it links names and businesses to new numbers. Search both the old and modern street forms, including Langdon Road and NE 116th, Capitol Hill and Norkirk, or Sheffield Street and 116th Avenue.

Kirkland Directory Gaps and Fallbacks

Kirkland's boundaries changed through the Houghton consolidation in 1968, Totem Lake annexation in 1974, Rose Hill and South Juanita additions in 1988, and the Finn Hill, Juanita, and Kingsgate annexation in 2011. Older municipal, school, permit, and service files may therefore sit in county or predecessor collections. Directory depth also varies by era. Plats, assessor cards, permits, school papers, and phone books can work better than an old-core city directory for postwar Juanita or Kingsgate.

The King County Library System genealogy collection provides in-library Ancestry Library Edition, FamilySearch access, newspaper databases, federal archives links, and Washington Sanborn maps. Kirkland Library can help with those licensed tools, but KCLS does not publish exact Kirkland-branch shelf years for local city or reverse directories. King County Archives and Puget Sound Regional Archives add recorded-document microfilm, territorial censuses, school and local-government files, and historical property cards.

1. Record the name exactly as printed, then note variants, initials, and old street names.
2. Capture the directory title, edition year, public role, organization, and keeper.
3. Compare a staff entry with its department page, a historic listing with phone or news sources, and a parcel owner with a dated deed.
4. Give an archivist a collection title, date range, names, and parcel or legal description when available.
